{mb_sdlf_jugador_SDLF-jugador_frase-destacada}Tours FC’s visit to Marcet reveals key differences in coach-player dynamics that inspire new ideas for France.
Jérémie Dussolier, Performance and Methodology Manager of Tours FC visited Marcet Football University with discovery and inspiration. Sent by the historic French club, Dussolier was fascinated by the way the Spanish academy operates, particularly the strong bonds between coaches and players.
One of the most striking aspects of his visit was witnessing how connected the staff is with their students. “What I notice is a big difference with France, and it’s in the connection between the coach and the players,” Jérémie stated. He explained that the coach tends to remain more distant from the group in France. “Here, I feel a very intense energy and an authentic connection between the coaches and the physical trainers,” he noted, seeing it as fresh air.
The relationship between the father of one of Tours FC’s young players and Marcet catalyzed the visit. After hearing about the positive experience, a delegation from Marcet went to Tours, and shortly after, Dussolier and his team decided to visit Spain to gain further insight. “It was interesting for us to come here, discover the context, which is something we don’t have in France,” he explained.
His trip was filled with productive meetings, during which he observed the methodology and engaged with experts in different fields, including goalkeeper coaching and physical preparation. “It’s a lot of analysis work but also discovery,” he said. Jérémie left Marcet inspired by the academy’s holistic approach, eager to bring new ideas back to France and build a deeper connection between the two institutions.
