Cedros International School Explores New Methodologies at Marcet

Representatives from Cedros International School in Mexico visited the Marcet Academy in Barcelona to learn about new techniques and methodologies in sports training.

Cedros International School from Mexico visited the Marcet Academy in Barcelona to enrich their students’ academic and sports education. During this experience, the Cedros representatives had the opportunity to delve into Marcet’s teaching and training methodologies.

Pablo García, Director of Sports Activities at Cedros, shared his enthusiasm for the practices observed: “Our visit to Marcet has been very enlightening. We wanted to discover new approaches we could implement in Mexico, especially since football is a fundamental pillar of our school’s youth education.”

The Cedros delegation was impressed by Marcet’s educational structure and the dedication and personalized approach given to each student. Paulo César, Football Coordinator at Cedros, highlighted: “We were fortunate to have two of our students participate in the Summer Camp here, which opened the door to this collaboration. At Marcet, just like at Cedros, integral education is highly valued, and that’s something we want to reinforce in our institution.”

García also pointed out the importance of science in sports, which Cedros International School greatly emphasizes: “We’re taking home a lot of new ideas, especially on how to apply sports science. There’s still work to be done in Mexico, but experiences like this motivate us to keep pushing forward.”

The leaders at Cedros International School aim to replicate the Marcet methodology in Mexico.

During the visit, the delegation was also able to observe the dynamic between coaches and students closely, an aspect that García emphasized as crucial: “Here at Marcet, the relationship between coaches and students goes beyond the usual. It’s a connection that extends beyond the field, which is vital for the comprehensive development of young people. It’s something we will seek to implement at Cedros.”

The visit from Cedros International School to Marcet provided them with new tools and knowledge and reinforced the importance of an educational approach that prioritizes both sports and personal development. With this experience, Cedros plans to implement practices in their institution that strengthen the comprehensive education of their students, adapting what they’ve learned to their context in Mexico.
