On the Road to the Top
{mb_sdlf_jugador_SDLF-jugador_frase-destacada}The journey of Jonathan Vimos, from playing in parks to joining Girona’s elite.
Jonathan Vimos clearly remembers his first steps in the world of football. “When I was four years old, I fell in love with the sport. My parents would take me to the park daily to run with the ball and score goals.” From that moment, football became a constant in his life. What started as a child’s game quickly became a passion that would push him to seek more significant challenges.
His path led him to Marcet Football University, a place he considers crucial for his development both on and off the field. “Marcet is a very, very professional academy. It’s a place where you improve, enjoy, and compete,” he says with conviction. For Jonathan, Marcet was not just a training ground but one of the best places in the world for young footballers who want to grow in every aspect of the sport.
His hard work and dedication eventually brought him to Girona, one of Spain’s most recognized clubs. “I arrived at the club by proving myself and working hard daily. Always enjoying the journey because if you don’t enjoy being on the field, or even in the gym, you’re not making the most of the process,” Jonathan says, offering this advice to other young footballers.
What impressed him most about joining the Spanish first-division team wasn’t just the skill and quality of the players but also the city. “Girona is a club that cares about its youth academy. Plus, the city is beautiful, and the passion for football here is huge.” Jonathan feels fortunate to be in a sports-focused environment where young talent is nurtured and given opportunities.
With his sights set on the future, Jonathan dreams of one day debuting for Girona’s first team. “What caught my attention the most is that this team trusts young players and gives them opportunities. My goal is to make my debut and continue growing as a player,” he concludes, eager to take on football’s challenges.
