Rising Trajectory in Football
{mb_sdlf_jugador_SDLF-jugador_frase-destacada}Lorenzo Mezzotero has a football journey from his beginnings in Canada to his signing with Sampdoria.
“It all started when I was four years old. I began playing football for a local team in Canada,” Mezzotero recalls about his first steps in the sport. His early career took him to Azerbaijan, where he spent six crucial years developing as a player.
The return to Italy marked a turning point: “At 12, I returned to Italy and went to play for Vigor Milano, a powerful team that helps players grow.” After a year, the opportunity at Atalanta came, although he faced challenges: “I had problems with my left knee that kept me off the football fields for six months during two consecutive years.”
In search of a change, Mezzotero joined Marcet, an experience he describes as transformative: “When I arrived at the foundation, I had no confidence and no longer believed in myself or my abilities, but despite everything, I only had three objectives: to improve, to play with a smile again, and to return to professional football. I had a wonderful season at Marcet, playing a lot and rediscovering the true Lorenzo.”
“Marcet not only made me improve on the field but also off it as a person”
After an exceptional level of play and much effort, there was surprising news. The call from Sampdoria: “The new directors had known me for a long time and wanted me at the club. They believed in me a lot to bring me here.”
Regarding his signing with Sampdoria, he reflects: “The first thing I thought was that now I have to work three times as hard because I still have a long way to go, and I will continue giving everything to make my dream in football come true.”
