Marcet crowned champions of MadCup 2023

The sub-19 team defeats Atlético de Madrid and claims the trophy. Sub-15 and 16 teams also participated.
In the third edition of MadCup, held at the Atlético de Madrid sports complex, Marcet emerged as the champion in the Under-19 category of 11-a-side male football. They competed against renowned international clubs throughout the tournament, including Argentina’s River Plate and Mexican teams Tigres, Monterrey, and Guadalajara.
MadCup brought together over 700 international teams from June 23rd to 28th, capturing media attention. Diario Marca highlighted Marcet’s victory on its cover, and the team was interviewed on the sports program Chiringuito, where they shared their experiences and emotions during the competition.
Marcet’s captain, Leo Remy, expressed, “I have been with Marcet since 2019. We are always busy with studies and training, but ultimately, we do what we love, which makes us happy.” Remy added, “My dream is to become a professional football player.”
Marcet’s Sports Director, Carlos Rivero, commented, “Over 200 young players from 54 countries reside with us. Some don’t even have proper shoes to walk on the streets. Our project has a strong social focus, and we take pride in seeing their progress and opportunities.“
Marcet also participated in the Under-15 and Under-16 categories of MadCup 2023. In both cases, the teams fell to Atlético de Madrid in the quarterfinals and round of 16, respectively.
